Wineport Lodge, Athlone 2020

More than just your average getaway.

Originally, Wineport was opened as a 60-seater restaurant, but there was such a high demand for overnight accommodation that further extensions had to be made to the building. Today, Wineport Lodge has 29 bedrooms, and with windows overlooking the lake, the views are absolutely breathtaking.

In recent months, Gecko Catering Equipment was chosen to renovate the 25 year old kitchen, giving it a complete make-over from top to toe.

Measuring and fitting the kitchen, installing extraction & ventilation systems and supplying the kitchen's catering equipment, Gecko completed this project from start to finish. Some of the kitchen equipment installed includes top-of-the-range combi-ovens, cook tops and grills. The staff have been provided with live cooking demonstrations to learn how to use the equipment to it's maximum potential. 

During this project, Lodge owners, Ray and Jane Byrne, and their staff members were an absolute pleasure to work with. We would like to wish them the very best of luck today on their post-pandemic re-opening (29th June 2020).
